Dorset LEP is chaired by Gordon Page CBE DL, the former Chairman of Cobham plc.
After graduating from Cambridge University, Gordon joined Rolls-Royce in 1962, rising to become Commercial Director of Military Engines in 1988. He joined Cobham plc in 1990, where he became Chief Executive in 1992 and Chairman in 2001, before he retired from the board in 2008.
Gordon is currently the chair of AirTanker Holdings and a non-executive director of Bournemouth Council Trading Company Ltd.
Gordon is also a past president of the Society of British Aerospace Companies, the Royal Aeronautical Society, the Chartered Management Institute and Dorset Business. In addition, he is past chairman of the Dorset Training and Enterprise Council, the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Economic Partnership and the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Multi-Area Partnership for economic development.
He is also a past board member and chairman of the Government’s Industrial Development Advisory Board, past Pro-Chancellor of Cranfield University, past Chair of Governors of Canford School and past chair of Hamworthy plc, in addition to being non-executive director of several industrial companies.
Gordon has received several honours, including a CBE in 2000, an honorary Doctorate of Science by Cranfield University in 2003, an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration by Bournemouth University in 2009 and an honorary Fellowship of the Royal Aeronautical Society in 2009. He was also appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Dorset in 2006.
