Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is working with the Home Office to help bring the voice of key local stakeholders in Dorset into these discussions, in order to air concerns, answer questions and help shape and inform this important policy area. We recognise that these changes and the ongoing uncertaintly around the UK's departure from the EU may already be having an impact on the recruitment and retention of people for local businesses and organistions. That is why we, and the Government, are keen to here from you.
On the 19 December 2018, the Government published a White Paper setting out its proposals for the United Kingdom’s future skills-based immigration system after our exit from the European Union – available here. The paper sets out the framework for the future system – and the Home Office is now in the process of engaging with a range of stakeholders on developing some of the policy detail.
About this event
During 2019, the Home Office is undertaking an extensive programme of engagement with sectors across the UK. This will include discussions with private, public and voluntary sector employers, as well as industry representatives.Engagement is a vital avenue through which to explore and consider the social and economic needs of all parts of the UK.
As part of an ongoing effort to engage with a large group of stakeholders in the design and implementation of the future system, the Home Office is delivering engagement events through the Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) network. This event will be a key mechanism for local stakeholders to provide feedback as we develop the future skills-based system.
