BRIDPORT & BEAMINSTER

Bridport & Beaminster has a population of 16,220 people. Bridport is internationally known for its rope making industry, which stretches back to Roman times.

By the 16th century, Bridport was supplying rope to the Royal Navy and most of the commercial fleet.

Bridport is home to world-class businesses such as Amsafe providing safety restraint products for the aerospace, defence, speciality and vehicle industries. Beaminster is an attractive market town with many buildings of character in rural West Dorset, home to several companies trading in international markets including Clipper Teas, Danisco and Kong.

Communications

Bridport is located on the A35 south coast trunk road. Beaminster is on the A3066 some 5 miles north of Bridport and 5 miles south of Crewkerne within easy reach of the A35, A303 and M5.

Commercial land

Bridport has a number of industrial estates both in the town centre and on the outskirts with the modern Gore Cross Business Park situated on the north eastern side of the town. It offers a wide variety of business space.

Beaminster is home to the Broadwindsor Business Park and nearby Horn Park Quarry Business Park.
