Project Summary
In October 2016, Bournemouth and Poole College opened their enhanced facilities at North Road for Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing students.
This project has improved the Engineering & Manufacturing facilities to create a better teaching environment, enhanced equipment and increased energy efficiency to reduce the carbon footprint of site buildings.
Outputs:
- Upgrade training facilities to C rating (including cladding, replacement of windows, roof repairs)
- AutoCAD classrooms and 3D printing facilities
- Investment in lathe and milling areas
Outcomes:
- Reduce carbon footprint of building
- Train 354 apprentices annually
- Train 227 students annually
- 70 new and safeguarded jobs

Gordon Page, (former) Chair of Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership, said:
