Nigel Evans


Further Education Representative

Nigel Evans has been Principal of Weymouth College since February 2016. Prior to that Nigel was Acting Principal of Weymouth College from November 2014. During these past 18 months, the College has successfully negotiated its way through a Structure and Prospects Appraisal (SPA), which was brought to a close by the FE Commissioner in October 2015. In addition, the College has moved from a grade 4 Inadequate Ofsted rating to a grade 2 Good College in November 2015, and the College was subsequently taken out of Administered Status in January 2016 by the Minister for Skills.

Nigel joined Weymouth College in 2012, as Vice Principal, but started life as an A-level Biology lecturer at Kingston College in Surrey. He has worked in Further Education for 35 years at a variety of colleges in London and the South of England, more latterly in a number of senior positions, including several years as a curriculum consultant and interim manager with FE Associates. Nigel is a passionate supporter of Further Education and its value in changing lives.
