Robert Firth

Enterprise Coordinator for Dorset (excluding Bournemouth and Poole)

 

Robert attended Poole Grammar School and read Metallurgy, Economics and Management at university before starting his career at British Steel Plc and then British Aluminium.  He then worked in a number of positions providing consultancy and support to the global metals and mining sector, including six months contracting in Finland.  He worked for Alstom Transport in New Zealand during a gap year before returning to the South West of England. 

Robert has spent the last twelve years in economic development for Somerset County Council and currently Dorset County Council, focusing on rural development and the skills requirements of the local labour market.
