Project Summary:
Dorset LEP has allocated £689,600 of the Getting Building Fund to Bournemouth & Poole College (BPC) for vital network equipment.
The project has replaced ageing network equipment to improve network bandwidth and throughput used by students, apprentices and staff. Improvements have further expanded wireless connectivity for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to enable students and staff to use their own device in college.
This upgrade has supported the increasing use of digital resources at the College’s Lansdowne, North Road and Fulcrum campuses. It has also supported the online delivery of teaching and learning for onsite students.
By March 2025, the project aims to deliver:
- 38,053 existing students assisted
- 2,450 staff assisted
- 40% courses delivered online
- At least 6,000 Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to enable students and staff to use their own device in College by 2024/25.
