Invitation to Tender – Skills Escalator
Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership is seeking professional support with the development of a new skills facility in the Bournemouth area.
The Skills Escalator brings together a consortium of employers in the Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing sectors, Bournemouth and Poole College, universities and Local Authorities (led by Christchurch and East Dorset Partnership). It is supported by Dorset LEP
The project forms part of the Bournemouth International Growth (BIG) Programme, a major economic growth plan focused on releasing the economic potential of Aviation Business Park and connected supply chains in and around Bournemouth Airport. Skills development and talent supply is a key element of this work.
Work during the last 2 years has focused on establishing the specific skills needs of companies in the Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace sectors and identifying the right solution for those needs. We have undertaken a major employer skills survey and developed an Outline Business Plan for a new facility.
The Skills Escalator consortium wishes to procure the services of a consultant or organisation for the purposes of taking the work carried out thus far and developing a full business case for a new skills facility or advising on an alternative option to fulfil the skills needs identified.
The outline budget for phase 1 (Business Requirements and Business Case Development) is set at £40,000 plus VAT, and to include all expenses. Tenderers will need to provide indicative costs for phase 2 (Support set up and Deployment) together with an accompanying rationale for the amount.
The deadline for submissions is 24 October 2017.
The tender documents for the project, which provide details of the requirements and timescales, have now been published and can be found via the link below:
